- Does GRBO take a cut of my rent?
- No. You pay one listing fee when you publish and nothing after that. Rent is arranged directly between you and the renter, and GRBO never handles the money.
- Is my home address shown publicly?
- No. Public pages show your city, neighbourhood and an approximate map marker offset from the real location. The exact address is only revealed if and when you share it with someone you are talking to.
- Do I need an account to browse?
- No. Searching and viewing listings is completely free and requires no account. You only need a confirmed account to publish a listing, message an owner, or send a letter.
- How much does it cost to list?
- Ten percent of the first month’s rent, with a five dollar minimum, charged once when you publish. A $200 per month garage costs $20. There is no recurring fee and no renewal.
- What if I want to raise the price later?
- You pay ten percent of the increase only, with the same five dollar minimum. Lowering your price is always free.
- Will the person I message see my email address?
- Not unless you tell them. Messages relay through GRBO and land in your on-site inbox. Email notifications tell you a message arrived, but your address is never disclosed to the other party.
- What is the letter feature?
- If you have spotted a garage, driveway or dock that is obviously unused but is not listed anywhere, you can drop a pin on that property and we will mail the owner a letter asking whether they would consider renting it. It costs two dollars, and you never learn the owner’s name or address.
- Can I write my own letter?
- No. You choose what you are interested in from a short list and we generate the letter from a template. That keeps every letter polite, easy to ignore, and keeps GRBO out of the middle of anything said in your name.
- Can I list a boat slip if the dock has no street address?
- Yes. Pin the nearest mailable house address the dock belongs to, and put the water body name and slip dimensions in the listing. That address is never shown publicly, which matters here because it may belong to a neighbour.
- How do you stop fake listings?
- Every published listing has a successfully charged payment card behind it with a real name and billing address. On top of that we verify the address, reject duplicates, compare photos against other listings, flag prices that are wild outliers for the area, and read every report a person files.
- Is GRBO related to VRBO?
- No. GRBO is a garage, parking and boat slip listing platform. It is not related to vacation rentals, lodging, accommodations or travel booking services, and is not affiliated with any such service.
